Gregory Anderson

Gregory Anderson has been a deputy for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office for the past 18 years. Greg is currently a Deputy Sheriff III and a member of the departments training and planning bureau, assigned to the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center. Greg is the lead use of force instructor for his department and is recognized throughout the State of Wisconsin as a lead trainer in use of force. Greg holds all 5 State of Wisconsin Unified Tactical instructor certifications and also trains extensively in the area of Civil Disturbance. Greg instructs throughout the Country in basic crowd control and protestor device tactics. Greg is a certified armorer in most police firearm’s, including pistol, shotgun, rifle, sub-gun, and automatic weapons. Greg has instructed for the Wisconsin Technical College System for the past 16 years and teaches for several Colleges in the State. Furthermore, Greg is a member of several State advisory committee boards that develop and implement training curriculum and standards for police recruit training for the State of Wisconsin.

Dennis J. Angle

Dennis is currently a Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division of the Waukesha Police Department. Dennis is a Defensive Tactic Master Instructor Trainer and an active member of Wisconsin’s Law Enforcement Training and Standards Advisory Committee for Defensive Tactics. He is also an instructor in several other disciplines (Basic SWAT, Firearms, Police Shotgun, Vehicle Contacts, Professional Communication, Ground Combatives, Weapon Protection and Retention, Crowd Control, and Taser). Angle is currently the Assistant Tactical Commander on his department’s Tactical Unit. Prior to patrol assignment he was an undercover investigator and has been instructing martial arts for 16 years. He has also been called to consult on use of force cases and officer debriefs. He is also a law enforcement consultant for Bravo Company USA a tactical equipment and M-4 manufacturer.

Mike Delvaux

Mike is the Administrative Captain at the Green Bay Correctional Institution. His duties include coordinating the work schedules for 230 security staff and 12 security supervisors, participating in the development and modification of institution policies and procedures, and in the development, training and implementation of the institution’s emergency preparedness plans. Mike has been with the Department of Corrections for 24 years. He has been very involved in training throughout the state. He holds instructor certifications in Principles of Subject Control, Firearms, Incapacitating Agents, Baton, Professional Communications Skills and in a variety of other corrections related areas. He is a DOC Use of Force Committee member and an Agency POSC instructor certified to train POSC instructors for the DOC.

Jerry Elliott

Jerry is a retired Captain with more then 25 years of experience in the Wisconsin Correctional system. He has been a trainer for over 30 years for Correctional and Law Enforcement staff and the Wisconsin National Guard in areas of Crowd / Riot Control, Emergency Response Units (C.E.R.T.), Firearms, Chemical Agents, O.C., and other Tactical areas. He instructed these and other programs for the Wisconsin Department of Justice Training and Standards Division and Wisconsin Technical Colleges. He developed the Wisconsin Correctional Emergency Response Unit concept and authored the training manual and the Emergency Response Field Commander / Squad Leader training program and manual. He developed their Firearm- Chemical Agent Instructor programs and manuals. He co-developed the Wisconsin C.E.R.T. training program and manual. He has been a technical advisor for Calibre Press on the videos Surviving Edges Weapons and Hostage Officer Survival. He is a member of I.A.L.E.F.I .(charter member), A.S.L.E.T., L.E.T.O. and I.L.E.E.T.A.

Lou Ann Hamblin

Lou Ann has been in law enforcement since 1990 and works for the patrol division of the Van Buren Township Police Department in south east Michigan. She is a certified firearms instructor (HK Master Pistol Instructor) and is a defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines. Lou Ann is also a police Mnt. Bike instructor, certified through the International Police Mountain Bike Association, and has instructed locally and nationally in the area of firearms and tactics at all levels of law enforcement and security to include presentations at ASLET and IALEFI. Lou Ann has written articles in the area of firearms training that have been published in police magazines including Law and Order and Police Marksman. She holds a BA degree in criminal justice administration and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in Human Performance Technology and Instructional Design from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Sergeant Charles E. Humes, Jr.

Mike is nationally recognized as one of the pioneers of modern defensive tactics and subject control. Best known for his highly acclaimed training articles, Humes began law enforcement training and writing in 1983. He has been published in: POLICE PRODUCT NEWS, POLICE MAGAZINE, LAW AND ORDER, THE TACTICAL EDGE MAGAZINE, THE TRAINING WHEEL, CALIBRE PRESS NEWSLINE‚, THE BACKUP CD, POLICEONE.COM, NAVYSEALS.COM, and THE BACKUP.COM. His video training tape, DYNAMIC STRIKING TECHNIQUES, is in use by individual officers and law enforcement agencies worldwide. Charles “Larry” Jones

Larry has been in Law Enforcement for over 30 years. Initially with the Baltimore County (MD) Police Department and then retiring from the Orlando (FL) Police Department and with 21 years service. Her served 16 with the Orlando SWAT Team and department trainer as a Firearms and active countermeasures instructor. He developed and instructed courses in woman officer survival. Larry has been an adjunct rifle instructor for HECKLER & KOCH INC, Singleton International and Thunder Ranch Inc. He is currently the training officer for the North Carolina State University Police Department. In Addition to training officers in firearms, he teaches female students as a Certified Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) instructor.

Mark Kohl

Mark is currently a unified tactical instructor at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI. Mark's area of instruction includes Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Vehicle Stops, Emergency Vehicle Operation and WI's Professional Communication program. Mark has over 23 year of full-time law enforcement experience.

Colonel Robert “Coach” Lindsey

Coach recently retired from Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was Director of Security for the Jefferson Parish President's Office, police survival instructor, range master, director of the training academy, and commander of the communications center. A graduate of Loyola University and the FBI Academy in sociology and psychology, he has qualified and testified as an expert witness and is a published author.

Jeffrey A. Mehring

Jeffrey A, Mehring is the Regional Director of Security for the Covenant Healthcare System located in Southeastern Wisconsin. Jeff has more than 23 years of experience in healthcare security with an extensive background in facility security, preventing workplace violence, personal security awareness and Principles of Subject Control training. Jeff has also acted as a consultant for other healthcare systems and hospitals across the country with a major focus on aggressive behavior management. In addition to his work in the healthcare field, Jeff has worked with private and community agencies such as The Easter Seal Society, Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin, Senior Citizens Center of Milwaukee, and many local churches in developing and implementing personal safety training programs.

Gary J. Monreal

Gary J. Monreal has over 18 years of law enforcement experience in corrections, patrol, SWAT and training. As a police officer with the City of New Berlin, WI Police Department, his duties also include SWAT Team Leader, specializing in explosive entry. Gary is an instructor-trainer and currently teaches chemical munitions, defensive tactics, firearms, TASER, vehicle contacts, high-level simulations, submachine gun and SWAT.

Jeffrey A. Parker

Jeffrey A. Parker has been employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for over 14 years. During this time he has obtained the rank of Sergeant working both in the Jail Division and now as the OIC of Support Services. Jeff has also been an Academy instructor for over 10 years teaching both State Law Enforcement and Jail Recruit Certification programs. Jeff is a member of the Tactical Advisory Committee for Professional Communication Skills and Defense and Arrest Tactics, he also served as a past member of the advisory committee for Principles of Subject Control (POSC). He also holds instructor certifications in, Correctional Emergency Response Team, Firearms and Oleoresin Capsicum along with other certifications in use of force topics and communications.

John Riddle

John has been an Officer survival instructor for the past 15 years where he specializes in firearms and defensive tactics for SWAT and road patrol officers. John’s teaching career started with the United States Air Force when he was assigned to the Combat Arms Training section. John is a 19 year veteran of the West Palm Beach Police Department where he is currently a road patrol sergeant on the midnight shift. During his tenure with West Palm Beach he worked in road patrol, street level narcotics and in the training unit where he teaches defensive tactics and firearms. John has just completed his fifteenth year in SWAT where he was an entry team member for thirteen years and has just completed his second year as the sniper team leader. John’s well rounded SWAT career has given him the opportunity to also teach firearms and tactics for SWAT Teams throughout the Palm Beach County area.

Jay G. Sandstrom

Jay is a nationally known instructor in the use of force & dealing with the emotionally disturbed. Since 1984 Jay has instructed Corrections, Law enforcement & Military personnel not only in Wisconsin but across the nation. This includes several grants from the National Institute of Corrections. Jay has a very diverse background within the Wisconsin Departments of Corrections & Health and Family Services. Positions held include ; Teacher, Recreation Director, Training Officer, Lieutenant, Camp Superintendent, Major, Unit Chief, Administrative Officer, Associate Warden-Security & Director of the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center. His education includes a B.S. degree in education and 40 plus graduate credits in the criminal justice field. Jay retired from the state in 2002 after 30 years of service.

Rory A. Thelen

Rory A. Thelen is a 19 year veteran of the State of Wisconsin, Department of Corrections. He currently holds the rank of Captain, working as the 1st Shift Commander at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac. He has been a Principles of Subject Control Instructor for the Department for 15 years and a POSC Agency Trainer the past 4 years. Rory is also a department Firearms Instructor and has been actively involved with Institution ERU teams throughout his career. He is a member of the Departments Use of Force Committee, as a consultant for use of force incidents throughout the state. Rory spent 5 years as a Staff Development Specialist at the Corrections Training Center, where he was responsible for facilitating all POSC Training for Pre-service Correctional Officers.

Daniel P. Vega

Daniel is a Licensed Social Worker and Mental Health Professional at Pierce County Juvenile Detention Facility in Tacoma, Washington. He was a Sworn Reserve Deputy Sheriff and clinical co-coordinator of a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team prior to working with juvenile offenders. In addition to teaching courses in Communication, Crisis, and Addictions for the University of Phoenix, Washington Campus, Daniel is a consultant, presenter, and trainer for mental health, law enforcement, and juvenile justice professionals with expertise in communication, conflict and crisis, violence and trauma, and dual addictions. Daniel developed Active Communication Tactics for use in conflict and crisis situations and has presented JSTA and ASLET seminars in Verbalization Skills. He was instrumental in developing the Verbalization Skills concepts for the Active Countermeasures System. His presentations stress professional demeanor and violence assessment and verbal de-escalation.

Joli Vollers

Joli Vollers is a 15-year veteran of a midwest fish and game law enforcement agency. She currently serves as her department's training coordinator in addition to her duties as a conservation officer. For most of her tenure she has served as a lead instructor in defensive tactics, tactical communications, and various less lethal weapons systems. She represents her department as an instructor at the state training academies as well as serving as a women's and childrens' personal safety instructor. Additionally, she also presents a variety of outdoor education programs to adults and youth, including firearms instruction and safety. She has developed numerous programs and materials to assist in the instruction of all of these programs.

Kathleen Vonk

Kathleen Vonk has worked the street as a police officer in Michigan since 1988. She has held the following Governing Board positions for the International Police Mountain Bike Association: president, vice president, secretary, and at-large, and education committee member. She designed and implemented the elite Survival Tactics and Advanced Riding Skills course for IPMBA, and teaches this and other classes on an international level. She is a frequent speaker at various international conferences to include officer survival tactics, use of force, realistic training, firearms, police cycling, and fitness. She holds a BS in Exercise Physiology and a BA in Criminal Justice, and she is widely published in a variety of professional journals.

Patrick A. Weyand

Patrick has been active in law enforcement for eight years. Currently, he is employed as a Deputy Sheriff for the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Instructorships include Defense and Arrest Tactics, Ground Defense, Firearms, Professional Communications and Advanced Taser instruction.

Robert C. Willis

Robert C. Willis has trained federal, state and local agencies and officers for over 25 years in the areas of defensive tactics, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, vehicle contacts, professional communications, constitutional law, report writing and numerous other disciplines. For a decade he co-presented the Calibre Press “Street Survival® Seminar” across the USA and Canada. Bob has been a patrol officer, "SWAT" team member, field training officer, departmental training officer, recruit academy and in-service academy instructor, a “train-the-trainer”, an officer survival instructor and lecturer and a litigation consultant. He still works as a police officer (part-time) and is a sworn deputy sheriff. Bob is a full-time Instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is responsible for the realistic training of public safety personnel at one of the most technologically advanced facilities in America that specializes in realistic scenario based instruction, located on the NWTC campus. Bob also teaches academic courses in the Law Enforcement Degree and Recruit Academy programs. He often serves as a litigation consultant and “expert witness” and has testified in Federal and State Courts, Grand Jury Hearings, Coroner’s Inquests as well as Police Disciplinary Hearings to explain and critique the force and/or procedural actions of officers. Bob authored the original State of Wisconsin's Defensive and Arrest Tactics Manual and has contributed articles to national publications.

Chet Zajac

Chet is a retired veteran of Law Enforcement, in Colorado, where his duties included Program Development, Training and SWAT. He has a 38 year history in martial arts, and is committed as a Use of Force Instructor . He is certified as a Defensive Tactics Instructor Trainer for PPCT, A National Trainer for V-4 (aerosol) Control, National Trainer for RIPP Restraints, National Director for Violent Behavior Control, National Trainer for Scientific Combatives Group and provided seven years of service to the Colorado POST board as a Subject Matter Expert. Chet is a Certified Use of Force Expert Witness and author, has a BS in Criminal Justice , is a Board Member for the Colorado Law Enforcement Officers Association, is the Tactical Design Labs National Training Alliance Director and is accomplished conference presenter .
